A sure sign of spring on the road where I live.

It's called the 'Walleye Festival' but...I've always seen more rummage sale shoppers than fishermen... even when looking up and down the river! If you don't rummage or fish the best thing to do is get out of town... if you can weave past the traffic, that is. Glad we don't have to drive down this side road! You couldn't guess by looking but this is a rural area.

Heritage Park in Muskegon looks like it's ready to take off sailing!

PhotoTime Tuesday - Theme #44..... Home Town

PhotoTime Tuesday - Theme #44..... Home Town

The Walleye Festival... a biggie in my hometown for the past 48 years.

Freeland is a small town growing by leaps and bounds. This is good and this is bad. Me? I think it's mostly bad because we are beginning to lose the small town flavor. My first photo was taken in front of the new Methodist Church, just built a couple of years ago.
Click for the big pictureMy second photo shows the main intersection and the only traffic signal in town. Actually there are certain times of day when we have a 'traffic jam' - when everybody is getting out of work and going home to all the new subdivisions across the river... between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm. Other than that it's pretty much of a 'pass through' sort of town. It's still small enough that it's cozy and everybody knows what everybody else is doing.
