Dale's Thursday theme this week is Shapes.
Here is mine. There are so many shapes in this lovely building that I couldn't make up my mind which one to accentuate!
No I didn't drop off the face of the earth. I've been busy trying to save my little corner of it! First and foremost, I've had total knee replacement on both legs... the first November 1 and the second on February 15. Now I can walk as far and as often as I please, with no problems whatsoever... no need to stop frequently. It's a wonderful thing!
The other thing keeping me busy is an almost fulltime job I've acquired... taking care of business in my own backyard. Since I'm a person who loves the outdoors and encourage critters of all kinds to live in my backyard I was stunned a year and more ago when extremists decided to make an issue out of a non-issue in our little corner of Michigan. It has to do with dioxin, one of the worse byproducts of all sorts of incineration, and a lot of politics. Truth is coming to light that even where dioxin exists in the soil of our environment, our bodies carry no more than other people in other areas where there is no extra chemical element contributing to what extremists called a problem.
This is very confusing to me because I've always been a strong supporter of environmental topics. I encouraged our lake board (at our cottage 'up north' in Michigan) to take steps to get rid of Eurasion milfoil (an exotic species that proliferates because it has no natural predators in the U.S.) in our lake... promoting it through our website and newsletter. Now I don't know who to trust when the word environment comes up! All I know is that most of the organizations are more political than not. We need a clearing house that sorts it all out and shows who is serious and who is merely political in the environmental arena... and I'm not going to do it!
